All of the top options should be unchecked (Separations, Spreads,
etc.)
Page Sequence > All
Registration > Centered
Offset > 12 pt.
Tiling > Off
Under "Set Up"
Printer Description > Adobe PDF
Paper Size > Custom
--- Page Width & Height should be set 1" larger
than the original size (ex: If original size is 8.5"
x 11" then the size entered should be 9.5" x 12")
Reduce or Enlarge > 100%
Page Positioning > Center
Orientation > Portrait
Paper Offset > 0"
Page Gap > 0"
Under "Output"
Print Colors > Composite CMYK
Halftoning > Conventional
Resolution > 2400 dpi
Frequency > 400 lpi
Under "Options"
Quark Postscript Error Handler > unchecked
Page Flip > None
Output > Normal
Data > Binary
Overprint EPS Black > unchecked
Full Resolution Tiff Output > Checked
Under "Bleed"
Symmetric - .125"
Clip at Bleed Edge > Checked
To Create a Postscript file from Quark 6.0
In the Print dialog box select [Printer] at the bottom of the
screen a warning will pop up hit "OK"
In the next box a postscript printer needs to be selected.
Where it says "Copies & Pages" select the pull down
menu, then select "Output Options"
Check "Save as File" and in Format select "Postscript"
Hit [Save]
A browser window will pop up> select where you want the PostScript
file saved then hit [Save]
To finish creating the file hit [Print]
To Create a PDF file from PostScript
To send a proof of exactly what will be printing and to make workflow
smoother, create PDF's for screen and for print by distilling
the created PostScript file directly through Distiller, rather
than exporting out of Quark. To do so simply open the postscript
file in Distiller.
